The Fight for London is the third track on Tom Menary's digital release Capital, and a major action theme on the album.

DetailsEdit

The track was loosely inspired by Murray Gold's "I Am the Doctor" from Doctor Who Series 5. It was initially released in April 2011, but replaced by a revised and expanded version in May. This reworked version features an introductory passage, and greater emphasis on the violin backbeat.

The track is comprised of two major motifs: A quick, piano-led action rhythm interspersed with a grander, descending series of notes that also appear in the revised introduction, and in a softer form in the track "Gone Below". Both motifs feature in slower modes in "Fleet", which follows directly from "The Fight for London".
