SynopsisEdit

Possession 02

Tom has a paranormal encounter.

A group of students sneak into a darkened building armed with torches and cameras, looking for ghosts... what could possibly go wrong?

A short film created by and starring Jim Elton and Tom Menary, with Annie Knight and Marie Muñoz Acosta. Shot on location at the University of Plymouth, Possession unites the ordinary with the supernatural, and an act of revenge has repercussions beyond a simple student film....[2]

Four students go ghost-hunting in a darkened building. Tom introduces the project to camera, and they begin exploring the corridors with torches. They soon start to question why they're bothering, although Tom thinks he sees something move behind Jim, and gets spooked. Continuing on, he suddenly finds himself alone, and runs around looking for his friends. Eventually he spots Jim's camera, left on the floor, but when he goes to pick it up, Tom is assailed by an unseen force. The remainder of the footage shows him limping through the corridors, looking like a man possessed.

ProductionEdit

Test footage for Possession was shot in Scott Building of Plymouth University on September 16, 2010, focusing on achieving the shot of Tom being lifted into the air by an unseen force.[3] The film was shot on location in Scott Building with a two-camera set-up. It was released as part of the Eternal Silence group on 7th October, 2011,[1] and was added to the Wingless Films filmography on 15th December, 2011.[2]

Possession was intended to tie into the Hero's Journey story arc as the project's second installment. The rivalry between the two male characters was to have led into the events of Bounded, where an abducted man is tormented by a rival. Lines such as "You're only doing this to impress her" were intended to hint at the rival's motivation, as he is seen with the Captive's girlfriend at the end of Bounded.
